Transformers!

4 days ago was my university orientation: Trapped. Sounds like a movie right? Anyway the turnout was great, compared to my orientation. In short the theme is about a group of students were being drawn into television world and in order to get out of it, they have to channel surf and compete in a fashion drag show. The channels are the game stations and the number of points your team collected will determine the amount of materials they get to dress their drag king and queen.

It was my first time being an orientation group leader (OGL) and it was a great experience. Together with Dawn and Zhiwen we led the OG Transformers! Although we did not manage to win anything, everyone had lots of fun and most importantly they made new friends before the term starts. Also thanks to my drag king and queen for being so sporty and going all the way. Although they did not win anything, I must applaude you guys for cross dressing and braving the humiliation. I would say you are definitely the man and woman! Hope you Transformers enjoyed the orientation! Somehow I think I can improve being an OGL and please forgive me that I could not remember everyone's name. Hopefully the next time I will be a better OGL. If there is anything that I can help, feel free to look for me. As for the pictures I will try to get them a.s.a.p.

Autobots vs Deceptacons!

Speaking of Transformers, I caught one of the most anticipated movies of the year on friday. One of my favourite cartoons in my childhood days, somehow I thought the movie will not be that fantastic before I watched it. However I was proven wrong and the movie really packs a punch! Well done Michael Bay! Cleverly smart with awesome CGI and loads of actions, it deserve a four star for me. I admit that some parts were a bit messy but overall worth your ticket price. Catch it man!

An interesting test from Wayne's blog. I find it amusing. Go try it... haha.

Do I Know What I Really Want?

Love is a funny animal. Or shall I say relationships. When you are interested in another person, it seems that things will never work out. When you are not looking for it, it just comes knocking on your door. Well this does not applies to everyone but it seems that it always happens on me.

Well I do learn from every experience. Still love seems to be deluding in my eyes. There is a chinese saying: 拿得起放得下. It means that if you are able to lift it up, you should have no problem by letting it go. This saying is always etched in my mind because I used to be someone who can't take things easily, especially when it comes to relationships. Then after some self reflection in army, I realise that life is not dictated by just one event or incident. Life still moves on whatever the outcome may be. The only way is to learn from the past and and to look forward towards the future.

Hopefully on my next encounter with relationships, I will be able to handle it properly. Now I am just looking forward.

It was never your fault in the first place. I am sorry if I was too pushy and if my actions startled you. Nevertheless the feelings were true but not mutual. We can still remain as friends and I wish you the best in your future endeavours...

The Surfer is Cool!

A few days ago I managed to catch Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer with gator at Marina Square. I have always been a fan of marvel cartoons and comics and I have watched most of the marvel comics that have been made into movies. This time round the ultra cool and powerful silver surfer comes to Earth to prepare her for destruction and it is up to the Fantastic Four to stop him. Added to the mix is the evil villan Dr Doom and you get an action pack of a movie! Three and a half for this movie man!

Awesome!

Almost Broke

Well recently there were several friends' birthday so the hole in my pocket is enlarging. I am still giving tuition to support my allowance. However one of my students went back to Malaysia so I am earning lesser now. Worse still with one more repeated module... argh.

Anyway last saturday, we had a birthday dinner for my GESS brother Malcom at Yuki Yaki restaurant at Marina Square. It is the restaurant where you can make your own ice cream on a freezing plate controlled by a thermostat. Of course we had other food like sushi, steamboat and tepenyaki. We did not have a birthday cake so we made our own "original" ice cream cake, not one but two! The taste was quite "out of this world" (ROFL) due to all the mixture and we had loads of fun making and eating them. After dinner we had a walk, had a pool session and bought tickets for the midnight show Ocean's 13. Not a bad show and guess what? I have not watched Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 12... haha. The plot was understandable, humorous and exaggerating so it was still enjoyable. Maybe the girls will much prefer the show as they can feast their eyes on George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. A three and a half stars out of five for me.

Ocean's 13

Two days back, I met up with Adrian, Karyn & Wendy. We had lunch at Ichiban sushi at Wisma and then went window shopping later. Actually we were suppose to treat Adrian for his belated birthday dinner but in the end we just treated him dinner at a foodcourt. Too broke I guess... haha. This holidays I think could be one of my poorest as I will always find work. So next holidays I guess I will need to do so.

In the meantime I think I will be spending more time at home to save money. I will also be working this saturday helping out at some conference for a week. Yes there is some cash to be earned! Till then for my next entry.

Tell me when will you be mine...

Tell me Quando Quando Quando...

Emotionless

I was supposed to update about my Genting trip in this entry but I just do not have the mood to do so. Well particularly for a few reasons and I also didn't take many pictures during the trip.

Results were out several days ago and I do not know what to say. Yes I was disappointed, not over my results but rather the effort I put in to get such a result. Yes I admit that I did not do my best and accept the harsh reality. I do not believe in crying over spilled milk as it won't get me anywhere. However it sort of jolted me a bit and made me realise what my actual goals are. Maybe I just need a "fall" to wake myself out from my dream.

I just wonder does is it always have to be when things start to happen then do people regret and change? For the majority I will say it tends to make us to become a better person. Only when people experience the pain or loss of something then do they realise their folly. Yes it could have been painful and difficult to forget but to be able to learn from your mistake and go all out and face reality to overcome the challenges is really the definition of the "never say die" attitude. However there are still people who will never learn their lessons. Hopefully they are able to see the light before it is too late.

I would like to thank all my friends who comforted me for the past few days. Don't worry I will be fine. A little failure wont daunt my spirit. If only I could say that for relationships... haiz.

What I've Done

Nope I have not done anything wrong... haha. Yup I am back from Gentings and I saw the MTV of this song by Linkin Park from their latest album Minutes to Midnight. I think the lyrics are meaningful and the band has so far been very popular with its rock music. I will update more on my Genting trip in the next entry. Now lets enjoy some rock shall we?

What I've Done

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no alibi
Cause I’ve drawn regret
From the truth
Of a thousand lies
[Pre-Chorus]
So let mercy come
And wash away
What I’ve done
[Chorus]
I’ve faced myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done
Put to rest
What you thought of me
Well I cleaned this slate
With the hands
Of uncertainty
[Pre-Chorus]
So let mercy come
And wash away
What I’ve done
[Chorus]
I’ve faced myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done
For what I’ve done
I’ll start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I’m forgiving what I’ve done
[Chorus]
I’ve faced myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done
What I’ve done
Forgiving what I’ve done
