2nd Week of Holidays

Last tuesday, I caught this show with my clique after my council AGM. It is one of those romantic comedy genre movies. In short, the story is about a guy who did not realise how important his best friend was to him until she got engaged to a Scotsman. Thats where he starts to try to woo her back. Overall it was not a bad movie but probably just a predictable plot that might let it down. Still it can be related to real life. Nothing is impossible as long you set your heart and will to achieve it.

It seems like this holiday I will not be working much. Partly is due to the short holidays as my exams ended late. Darn I have to cut down on my spending and start looking for ad hoc jobs. If there is any job lobangs, please let me know. Thanks haha.

Life is simple, people are just complicated...

Post-exam Fever

Nope I did not get sick. I was just having having lots of fun for the whole week haha. I am so glad that the exams are over. You can say I had a really torturous period of mugging so now I don't even feel like doing anything else but just enjoy this short period of freedom. However one can only enjoy so much as time and money allows. Soon I need to find ways to supplement my income. Oh well, enjoy while it lasts.

After the final paper on 12th of May, Hongyi, Joy, Yi Wei and me decided to have a celebratory dinner to treat ourselves. We settled on Japanese food at this restaurant at Hong Leong Garden. The decor was rather authentic and has that "Jap" feel. We had sashimi and Japanese style curry rice. Once again I forgot to take pictures for the food (-_-)". It was rather average but I like the ambience there.

After dinner, we headed down to Rochester One for chit-chat session. It was my first time there and the place is rather secluded so it is preferable to drive. We chose this cafe and it was a nice place to chill out. We ordered Magaritas and they were rather refreshing. Mine was the cranberry while Joy and HY tried the apple and wild berries respectively. Apart from the falling water at the pond, which was rather noisy, the place is perfect for a chill-out session after a long day. I will definitely go down there in future.

Next up was the Council chalet. It was really crazy fun! A big THANK YOU to the organising team who put in a lot of effort to make this chalet a success for the whole council, allowing everyone to mingle and have fun together. Food was good, games were dirty but fun and pillow fight was madness! I do not have much of the pictures with me so I will probably upload in my next entry.

I caught this show with Kevin and Huixian. I will recommend this show to those who have not watched it. In short, the movie invovles two strangers who woke up to find themselves married after their night of drunken activities. Then one of them won the jackpot on the the other's coin and the newly wed couple set out to plot against each other to claim the money, only to slowly fall in love with each other along the way.

Watching the show makes me think that life is an irony. When we got or achieved something that we wanted, then we think again: is it really what we want in life? Then when we start to take things for granted and only realise how important is it to us when we have lost it. Are humans made this way? Do we really have to learn it the hard way? Perhaps thats the way of life. Only pain can make people learn. Take for example, a person will be wary of fire if he is burnt while playing with it because he has experienced pain. That lesson will forever be etched in his/her mind. Unless that person is plain stupid or doesn't learn the lesson, no normal human being will want to experience pain. Then again we are humans afterall, born to learn from mistakes.

Sometimes I wish my heart is frozen eternally...

The period I went missing

Ok I am back after several weeks of mental stress. This time, the exams were much harder and hopefully I can clear all of the modules. I think as the year passes, I need to dig deeper within to find the discipline and motivation to study. Oh well, studying for almost a quarter century is no fun business in the first place. All right enough talk of studying. Holidays are here to stay for at least a month. Here are some pictures to post.

Yu Pian Tang @ River Valley

One of the study days I met up with Hongyi and Joy to have dinner at River Valley. I forgot the name of the restaurant but I must say it is quite good. No wonder Hongyi doesn't mind to have it for 3 meals haha.

Gui Lin Gao at Geylang

This was one of another study day with Feliza and then decided to have some gui lin gao at Geylang after dim sum with Kenneth. I forgot to take pictures for the dim sum but their milk tea is seriously "good stuff"! It is because of the palm sugar that the restaurant uses it for the drinks, giving it a unique taste. Anyway the gui lin gao was good but a little pricey.

Con is snoozing

Check out the lightings

These pictures were taken at some cafe at 6th Avenue on of the study days. As we were chased away by the staff from Farrer MacDonalds due to the crowd, we decided to find another place to study. The cafe ambience was not bad for relaxation but for studying, I think it is not a good choice. This can be attributed to the dim lightings and cosy environment. At times I was almost falling asleep haha. Still I will go back there to chill as it is a nice place.

Who is this little girl?

Isn't she cute??

Her name is Serena and she is my student's little sister. She is always full of energy and talkative. Even when she is naughty, she is still adorable. Too bad I don't have a little sister to play with.

I have been neglecting my dogs during the exam period and now I want to sped more time with them. Also it is time to meet up with some friends that I have not seen in a while. Suddenly there are so many things to do after the exams!

Caught again...
